Located at the Hong Kong Hongyi Environmental Education Base in Sheung Shui, New Territories, this is the first strategic pilot project jointly implemented by Hangzhou Nanda Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. and the Hong Kong Hongyi Environmental Education Development Fund. The project treats 200 kg of kitchen waste daily and adopts a dual-driven model of “Technology + Education” to help Hong Kong build a “community-level waste closed-loop” system, providing a practical example for urban low-carbon transformation.

01 Localized Design: Purple-Grey Body Leading Eco-Friendly Fashion
Considering Hong Kong’s compact urban spaces and high community participation, Nanda Environmental customized its smart kitchen waste treatment equipment. The machine body features iconic purple highlights in line with Hong Kong’s Kitchen Waste Recycling branding, combined with a modular structure and smart touch interface. Occupying only 3 square meters, it can be seamlessly integrated into communities, schools, and other public spaces. The device operates quietly, setting an example of “invisible” environmental infrastructure.

02 Technological Breakthrough: Ambient Degradation Paired with One-Click Fertilizer Production
The project adopts Nanda Environmental’s independently developed ambient-temperature aerobic hydrolysis process, requiring no external heating. Kitchen waste is degraded within 8–24 hours, achieving a reduction rate of over 90% and a residue rate of less than 10%. Simultaneously, it features a one-click fertilizer machine that converts effluent into nutrient-rich liquid fertilizer meeting Hong Kong Organic Resources Center standards. This liquid can be used directly for community greening or distributed to residents, achieving “in-building recycling”.

03 Carbon Reduction Effect: Data-Enriched Green Ledger
According to calculations, a single device can process 73 tons of kitchen waste annually, significantly reducing carbon emissions from secondary waste transport. The liquid fertilizer produced can replace chemical fertilizers, achieving additional carbon reduction, equivalent to planting hundreds of trees.

As a core initiative of the Hongyi Environmental Education Development Fund’s “Kitchen Waste Recycling Pilot Program”, the project deeply integrates educational functions:

Interactive Visits
Through touch-screen displays and transparent chambers, visitors can observe the waste degradation process in real-time, making the concept of “turning waste into treasure” tangible.

Community Workshops
Regular “Kitchen Waste to Green Plants” workshops allow residents to bring fruit peels and vegetable scraps to produce fertilizer on-site and exchange it for potted plants.
